A Family Table for Morden
21 years of Indian food, live sport and celebrations on Crown Lane.
Our Story
It started with a simple idea:
feed people like family.
In 2005, a family with deep roots in Indian cooking opened a small restaurant on the corner of Crown Lane in Morden. They didn't set out to be the biggest, the trendiest, or the loudest. They set out to do one thing properly — cook the food they grew up eating, and share it with their neighbours.
Twenty-one years later, that table has grown. Three refurbishments, thousands of birthdays, hundreds of weddings and engagement parties, countless Friday nights with the football on — and still the same family behind the kitchen, still cooking like you're coming round for dinner.
Today, Blue Junction is the oldest Indian bar & restaurant in South London — a distinction no one else in Morden, Surrey, or the surrounding boroughs can claim. We've earned that the slow way: one plate, one regular, one celebration at a time.
"We're not just a curry house. We're the room where Morden celebrates — birthdays, weddings, big match nights, quiet Tuesdays. All of it."
— The Blue Junction Family
The Food
Classic Indian. Bold Indo-Chinese. Cooked properly.
Our kitchen runs on two traditions. The first is the Indian food the family grew up with — slow-cooked curries, tandoori grills straight from the clay oven, biryanis layered with whole spices, and a No-Onion-No-Garlic menu for guests who keep a sattvic diet.
The second is Indo-Chinese — the smoky, wok-fired fusion of Indian heat and Chinese technique. Chilli Chicken, Hakka Chilli Paneer, Crispy Lamb, Chilli Mogo. Few restaurants in South London do it. Nobody does it like we have for two decades.
Every plate uses fresh ingredients prepped that day, by chefs who have been with us for years — not weeks.

The Room
A bar, a restaurant, and the room where Morden celebrates.
We're a proper bar with real ales, craft cocktails and the sport on the big screens — Premier League, Champions League, cricket, rugby. We're a restaurant for date nights, family Sundays and group dinners. And we're a venue: birthdays, christenings, engagements, registry-office receptions from nearby Merton Register Office, full wedding celebrations, corporate away-days and Christmas parties.
One address, one family, every kind of night out.
Part of Morden
More than a restaurant
For 21 years we've been part of the fabric of Crown Lane. We know our regulars by name. We've fed three generations of the same family. We've hosted local cricket clubs after a win, and the same wedding parties year after year as the family grows.
We don't take that lightly. It's the whole reason we're still here.
